Stuart was the main songwriter and guitar/keyboard player in Young Marble Giants '78-80 and followed that with an experimental studio project called The G!st,' 81-85, both on Rough Trade Records.

He then went solo/acoustic and has worked on nine albums to date, on various smaller labels, including collaborations with Louis Philippe.

He is currently working with Tiny Global Productions on two and a half albums.
