Ailie Ormston is a music maker who makes acoustic and electronic music, sometimes together and sometimes separately. Ormston’s work is primarily constructed through improvisation and assemblage and has musical interests in motivic development and timbral abstraction as well as hifi and lofi sounds, repetition, microtonality and song. In 2022, Ormston released It Changes with Tim Fraser (bison) which ranked at no. 25 on boomkat’s best releases of 2022, and also wrote new music for Tectonics. In 2023, Ormston will release new solo music with support from Help Musicians.
