Elephant In Red
Purveyors of ‘pop nuggets in the vein of Elliot Smith or Happyness' (The Scotsman) in their adopted home of Glasgow, Elephant in Red have emerged as an exciting prospect for the scene. After releasing Big (featured in Secret Meeting, Snack Mag, Austin Town Hall) under his own name on Heavenly Creature Records in October last year, with tapes by Dead Hound Records later in the year, Loup Havenith started working with friends to bring his low-fidelity folk-rock songs to the stage. The band has since played a series of well-received headlines and support slots in Glasgow and London, including gigs with Spang Sisters and Vanity Fairy at the Shacklewell arms as well as John Myrtle in Glasgow’s Flying Duck. They hang out all the time and love each other very much. One day maybe they’ll pool up some money to buy a farm and live on the land and make music and art forever and roll out some banging homemade pasta too.
