Pop Mutations are thrilled to welcome Coby Sey to Stereo on Thursday 9th March
Coby has developed a truly singular voice as both a producer and performer, weaving together threads from jazz, hip-hop and contemporary club music to create something wholly new. Though his output almost seems collaborative by nature - frequently seen working alongside fellow artists such as Tirzah, Mica Levi and Brother May (often appearing alongside Levi and May as part of their CURL collective) - his debut solo album “Conduit” released on AD93 last year provides a perfect example of his distinct vision. Across its eight tracks, he employs a unique blend of live instrumentation and sample-based material to hypnotic and sometimes unnerving effect.
Fresh from the release of their forthcoming album “EEL” on 12th Isle, Cru Servers will provide support on the night with a brand new audiovisual set, alongside local legends Comfort (also due a new album with their forthcoming FatCat release “What’s Bad Enough”)
